Central Texas is experiencing hot weather with high fire danger. The fire danger level is elevated for the region, including areas near Waco. Several counties are currently under burn bans, with Lampasas recently added to the list.

Wind conditions are also a concern, with gusts expected to reach 30 mph on Thursday. This breezy weather will continue into Friday before subsiding over the weekend. Humidity levels will decrease by Sunday, but for now, the combination of heat and wind is creating hazardous conditions in the area, including McLennan and surrounding counties.
